about
Hailing from 1964 and originally released on the iconic Copacabana Records, 'Um Balanço prá você' by Os Rouxinóis is one of the oldest releases featured in the Brazil45 series. This quirky, shuffling bossa nova / exotic number was penned by the fabulous Arnaud Rodrigues and is taken from a five-track 7" Compacto that features tracks that the group performed on television shows.
The funky, soulful MPB 'O Viajante' by Wal Sant'ana is a long-time favourite here at Mr Bongo. Originally released on 7" by RGE Records in 1974, this male lead with female backing vocals groover is a sure-fire hit on the dancefloor and is equally enjoyable on headphones or at home. Uplifting, good vibes by the amazing Wal Sant'ana, whose vinyl output may have been small, but was certainly mighty.
